A lifelong love of music has brought many opportunities to Christy Fine. Growing up in the small town of Cashion, Mrs. Fine was a member of the band program as a clarinetist. She attended then Central State University and studied woodwinds with Dr. Jack Sisson, performed with the concert band, marching band, orchestra and woodwind quintet, and sang with a vocal group. Upon graduation she went on to teach band in the Putnam City School District.

In 1989, Mrs. Fine redirected her career and came to Edmond to teach strings at Summit Middle School, adding Santa Fe High School to her schedule in 1993 when the school opened.

Christy Fine is a member of Oklahoma Music Educators Association, Oklahoma Music Adjudicators Association, Oklahoma Educators Association, Edmond Association of Classroom Teachers and Sigma Alpha Iota Alumni and has been named in several issues of Who’s Who among Professional Educators. She has served OMEA as Orchestra Chairman and Orchestra Vice President has served on the board of North Central Honor Orchestra and on the board of OMAA. Mrs. Fine hosts a Summer String program in Edmond at Santa Fe High School, teaches at the Arkansas University Summer Orchestra Camp during the summer and began working with the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra program in 2001, she has served as a guest clinician, presented sessions or adjudicated for workshops, concerts and or contests throughout the state of Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri.

Christy and her musician husband Joe have lived in Edmond since 1981 where they have enjoyed raising their two boys, Derek and Aaron who participated in the Orchestra Programs.
