Conductor, Rockin’ Strings
Karina Fisher, conductor of the Rockin’ Strings Programs, served as Program Manager of the Oklahoma Youth Orchestras for two years and previously taught orchestra for seven years in Mid-Del Public Schools, where she was Orchestra Director of Midwest City High School and Jarman Middle School.
Mrs. Fisher received her Bachelor of Music Education degree, with emphasis in violin and viola performance, from Oklahoma City University in 2006. While attending, she did a three-week concert tour across China with the orchestra, performed at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, and played multiple concerts with legendary Smokey Robinson. She has been playing violin for 20 years and is a proud alumnus of the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra.
Mrs. Fisher recently served as the Oklahoma Music Educators Association Honor Orchestra chair in 2012, as well as vice-president of the North Central Honor Orchestra, and is a two-year alumna of the Oklahoma All-State Orchestra and Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain. She currently performs with the Enid Symphony Orchestra, the Metropolitan String Quartet and maintains a private lesson studio. Mrs. Fisher resides in Deer Creek with her husband Aaron and their children, Cooper and Callie.
