Since 1977, Oklahoma Youth Orchestras has been serving the students of central and western Oklahoma to make new friends and perform at the highest level. Many of our alumni know the organization as Guy Fraser Harrison Academy, the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra or OYO – all of which throughout our history have graduated over 2,000 talented musicians who serve as leaders in their community today.
“The opportunity to work with other young musicians in the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra on the great orchestral repertoire was an important part of my learning experience. The teamwork, individual preparedness, and spirit of willingness required to make music on this scale are values that every teenager should cherish, and these have carried me through my musical development.”
– Joshua Roman, Cellist; Artistic Director, Town Music at Town Hall Seattle; Senior TED Fellow
“I have never been pushed to be my best with the highest expectations more than I have in the Oklahoma Youth Orchestras. It has been the most rewarding experience learning and growing with students who share the same passion and musical talent.”
– Olivia, Oboe; Dr. John E. Clinton Scholarship for Artistic Excellence Winner
