The Chamber Orchestra is an auditioned string ensemble that rehearses and performs literature utilizing position work, advanced rhythms, keys, bowing techniques, articulations, and expression. Student musicians will demonstrate knowledge and performance of these skills in addition to vibrato, upper position work, and musicality. Individual practice and attendance at rehearsals and concerts is important to the development and success of both the student and the ensemble.
The Chamber Orchestra rehearses Monday evenings from 7:15pm – 8:30pm at Oklahoma City University. The conductor of the Chamber Orchestra is Dawn Thrailkill, who has conducted the ensemble since it began in 1999.
