Shaemon’ Harris, a native of Oklahoma City and former Oklahoma Youth Orchestras member from 1990-97, earned a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Oklahoma in 2002. During her time at the University of Oklahoma, Shaemon’ played with the Lawton and Arkansas Symphony bass section. Following graduation, Shaemon’ was an orchestra director in Enid Public Schools 2002-2012 where she performed as a string bassist with the Enid Symphony Orchestra.

Mrs. Harris served as the orchestra director at Carl Albert Middle School and High School in Midwest City, OK from 2012-2015, the Festival Strings director in Mid-Del from 2014-2017, and became the Philharmonia conductor in 2017. Shaemon’ is the current orchestra director at Summit Middle School in Edmond, OK.

Professionally, Mrs. Harris has served as All State Orchestra co-chair, Tri-State Honor Orchestra chair and co-chair, Enid All City chair and co-chair, North Central Honor Orchestra 7th & 8/9th grade co-chair, and is a National Board Certified Teacher in Instrumental Music Education.
