Senior Concerto Competition 2018

Who is eligible to audition?

Students who are currently enrolled in the Oklahoma Youth Orchestra (OYO) and will be a high school senior as of Fall 2018. The student MUST be in the OYO for the whole of the 2018-2019 season in order to perform his/her concerto. Students are welcome to audition on their primary instrument or another instrument of their choice.

What are the Audition Requirements?
The piece chosen should be accessible for the entire ensemble and be of relatively standard instrumentation, and is subject to the approval of the Artistic Director. Students must audition on one movement of the concerto which they wish to perform the following season. The movement does not have to be memorized and there will be no piano accompaniment for the audition. No accompanist will be provided nor should one be brought by the student – this is a solo audition and only certain sections of the movement will be performed. If an adjustment to the repertoire is required a request will come from the Artistic Director.
