Oklahoma Youth Orchestra (OYO)
Oklahoma Youth Orchestra (OYO), the flagship orchestra of the Oklahoma Youth Orchestras organization, is comprised of the most advanced high school musicians who perform standard repertoire, as well as music from contemporary composers. OYO routinely performs with professional guest soloists, with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, as well as premiers new works. Students who are seniors have the opportunity to audition for the annual concerto competition and, if selected, perform with OYO and win the Dr. Lin-Lin Liu Award for Excellence in Solo Performance.
OYO has been invited to travel to NYC and perform at Carnegie Hall! This tour is currently on pause due to the pandemic, but will take place at a future time when it is safe to do so. Learn more about this incredible honor HERE.
The conductor of OYO is Artistic Director Jeffrey Grogan. The OYO rehearses every-other Monday evening on Schedule A, beginning October 12 at Crossings Christian School, Upper School.
